Save the Date for FCCA Foundation’s ‘Shining Stars’ Dinner Event

Miramar, FL (February 22, 2024) – Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) – the trade association that represents the mutual interests of destinations and stakeholders throughout the Caribbean, Central and South America, and Mexico, along with Member Lines that operate over 90 percent of the global cruising capacity – is proud to announce that it will relaunch a reimagined version of its marquee dinner event during Seatrade Cruise Global. Now named ‘Shining Stars FCCA Foundation Dinner,’ the exclusive, executive-packed event will take place the evening of April 9.

The invitation-only event will be coordinated by FCCA and supported by FCCA Member Cruise Lines, with Presidents, CEOs, and more high-level cruise executives hosting tables to raise money for the reintroduction and revisioning of the Association’s charitable arm, the FCCA Foundation.

“I cannot be prouder to again help so many through the FCCA Foundation, especially with its revamped focus and collaborative partners like Diamonds International,” said Michele Paige, CEO, FCCA. “There also seems like no better way than to bring it back with a bang, with surprises galore, and putting us back on path for this annual highlight.”

“FCCA has a way of making business and networking fun at events like this, and I am confident that this one will not to be missed, especially considering the worthy cause it represents,” said Micky Arison, Chairman of FCCA and Carnival Corporation & plc.

The event and relaunch of the FCCA Foundation have been supported by a new collaborative partnership with Diamonds International. As part of the partnership, both entities are combining their resources, especially on the focus of direct contact with local communities to determine needs and ways to help that can generate long-term benefits.

All event proceeds will go directly to the FCCA Foundation’s efforts and its revamped focus on building a foundation for youths throughout the Caribbean and Latin America – with primary identified objectives of education, sports, and career-building opportunities to support them in the present and future – while restarting past initiatives including the Holiday Gift Project and annual essay competition.

Created in 1972, the FCCA is a not-for-profit trade organization that provides a forum for discussion on tourism development, ports, safety, security, and other cruise industry issues and builds bilateral relationships with destinations’ private and public sectors. By fostering an understanding of the cruise industry and its operating practices, the FCCA works with governments, ports and private sector representatives to maximize cruise passenger, crew and cruise line spending, as well as enhance the destination experience and increase the amount of cruise passengers returning as stay-over visitors.
