FCCA PAMAC Cruise Summit Gathered Industry Professionals and Key Decision Makers

Pembroke Pines, FL. (January 28, 2014) Over 100 Platinum Members-representatives of FCCA's exclusive membership program and crucial stakeholders in the cruise and tourism industry-joined over 30 FCCA Member Line cruise executives from January 23-27 aboard Princess Cruises' Ruby Princess-site of the PAMAC Cruise Summit and a hub to discuss trends; develop ideas; promote and pitch their products and destinations; and develop lasting and worthwhile business relationships with some of the most significant decision makers in the industry.

From departure to return, the Summit's itinerary featured functions and meetings designed to foster these relationships, idea exchanges and product promotion. As soon as Ruby Princess sailed from Port Everglades, Platinum Members congregated with executives for the Business Card Exchange & Reception, hosted by Tony Kaufman, Princess Cruises' senior vice president of commercial affairs.

The Summit's first official day collected attendees for a two-hour session of one-on-one meetings, where Platinum Members selected cruise executives to privately meet. Often these executives filled a required need for discussing and presenting new business, as they decide where ships call and what tours and products are sold onboard.

The second day offered tours from contributing Platinum Members, which provided an opportunity to see and learn from successful tour offerings and the destination's port and infrastructure developments, while also having some good, old fun. Playa Mia Grand Beach & Water Park hosted an all-day beach party, complete with speed boating, snorkeling and Segway adventures; Discover Mexico gave a taste of Mexico with the Jose Cuervo Tequila Tasting Experience; Dolphinaris supplied the chance to swim and play with dolphins; Fury Catamarans sailed a route of partying and snorkeling; and Sand Dollar Sports thrilled with a genuine experience of America's Cup 12-Metre Yacht Race. The day also treated the group to an exclusive reception hosted by Carnival Corporation, where Cozumel's mayor, Fredy Marrufo Martin, welcomed all to his city.

One of the most important proceedings-the PAMAC Meeting-was saved for the last day. Here, the latest developments and issues in the industry or any topic/question offered by members were discussed by an expert panel in order to stay informed on all of the most recent trends and how to best actualize the knowledge gained.

Atlantis, Paradise Island then helped bid adieu by hosting a farewell reception, where the group gathered one last time to finalize business, learn from each other or just enjoy the sunset-view and hor d'oeuvres from Ruby Princess's outdoor terrace.

The FCCA is proud to offer events like these for its members to develop their businesses, cultivate ideas and establish working relationships with some of the most prominent figures and decision makers throughout the industry.

Created in 1972, the FCCA is a not-for-profit trade organization that provides a forum for discussion on tourism development, ports, safety, security, and other cruise industry issues and builds bilateral relationships with destinations’ private and public sectors. By fostering an understanding of the cruise industry and its operating practices, the FCCA works with governments, ports and private sector representatives to maximize cruise passenger, crew and cruise line spending, as well as enhance the destination experience and increase the amount of cruise passengers returning as stay-over visitors.
